Our trip to the vet

It's heartworm test time so we went for a ride yesterday...to the vet. Mom sweetened us up by coming home early and taking us for a big walk. Then we went for a ride in the car. We were happy so we didn't mind getting out of the car.

We always get weighed at the vet. We went right over and sat on the scale one at a time. Poker weighs in at 54.4 lbs. Euchre weighs in at 55.2 lbs. Ha! More treats for me! --Poker

Poker's ears were on alert in the exam room when he heard the other dogs in the waiting room and in the back barking. Who's there? --Poker


Euchre was braver, so he went first. The vet looked at his spots and ordered a thyroid test since he never had one. He got a skin scraping and some pills. He was brave for his blood draw and his heartworm test was negative.

Poker was scared and had his rear half on Mom's lap as the doctor checked his ears. He also got his belly checked, and the doctor said the skin looked good for a bulldog. Since his skin issues were only on a patch of one side, the doctor said he needed more frequent baths during grass/pollen season. Doh! --Poker His heartworm test was negative too and he got the same pills as Euchre.

After the vet, Mom took us to Petco to buy medicated shampoo. We checked out all the aisles and sniffed our favorite bins (the ones with the big beef bones). No toys or treats today, just shampoo. We made one more stop at the grocery store to get drying powder for Euchre's tail, then headed home.

Our trip to Virginia

We went out of town last week. Mom had to work in Washington, DC so we got to go along too! How do we look in the Mini?


We take our regular seats: Poker in the front, Euchre in the back.


And soon, Poker was snoozing.


We stayed with Mom's friend, Mr. Matt. We made ourselves right at home.


Poker made his way onto the sofa, and ended up sleeping there instead of on the bed with Mom.


Mama's boy slept with Mom.


Poker eventually decides to go on the bed too.


Euchre followed Mom everywhere. Here he is outside the bathroom while Mom was getting ready.


We went for long walks every day.


Poker stayed right beside Mom.


Euchre preferred walking across the lawns.


Mom really liked the houses in the neighborhood.




Especially the different garage doors.


This was her favorite house because of the windows, porch and porch flooring.


It has a garage in the back too!


Mr. Matt had a fenced in backyard with a lawn and patio. It was so big, we were too lazy to walk to the part with grass. We found a small patch of grass by the door instead. When Mom was shopping with her friend, we hung out with him outside on the patio where we laid sunbathing.

We stayed over a couple nights, then went home when Mom finished working. It was a long ride home. Lots of traffic, but we didn't mind.

We go to the races!

Mom took us to the races with her in Baltimore. We waited in our own cool spot in the back of the boathouse while she was working.




When she wasn't busy, we got to come out and see all the dogs and people.


And there were a lot of people!




And a lot of boats!





And...a banana?!


Mom let us have some bananas since we behaved so well. We got a bath at home, then slept for the rest of the weekend.

We'll wait in the car

We went for a ride with Mom yesterday. Poker likes sitting in the front because Mom scratches his ear.


Then Mom went to a meeting at the gym. We knew she'd come back even though it looks like we're not sure.


After the meeting, we waited while she ran a few errands. Each time, Poker went to hang out with Euchre until Mom came back. Then he jumped back into "his spot" in the front seat.
