Happy Memorial Day!

We like having Grandma and Grandpa around. Grandpa takes us for walks in the morning. Poker follows Grandma all around the kitchen waiting for food to drop. He sits ready to munch. Sometimes Grandma drops kernels of corn, but we don't do so well catching them. Mom gives us a big carrot. We like that better.

Euchre found a new spot to lay on Grandma. His tongue doesn't fit in his mouth any way he lays down.

Poker finds a spot on Mom.

Yesterday we stayed home when Mom took Grandma and Grandpa into the city. Grandma rode a bicycle for the first time! It's a conference bike that holds seven people. They pedaled from Federal Hill past the Inner Harbor to Fells Point and had croissants at Bonaparte Bakery with some of Mom's friends. One of the bikers is a reporter from the Baltimore Sun newspaper who's writing an article about the conference bike. And there was a photographer from the Sun too. The article should be out around June 7. We'll have to post a link here when it comes out.

Grandma may be coming back for a visit to watch us when Mom is at the long regatta. We'll show her well we can behave. We smell her cooking now. Time to go!

Grandma and Grandpa spoil us

Grandma and Grandpa came in last night. We were so excited. We waited up for them. After a good night's sleep, we got to play (and go on two walks so far today!). When Grandpa got up, Poker knew he could get some extra food out of him. He's at attention when the peanut butter jar came out. Euchre tried to get some food too. Okay, maybe just a veggie biscuit.

Later, Euchre rang the bell so Grandpa would let him out. When he came back in, Grandpa had a treat waiting. Poker wanted a treat too, but Grandpa wouldn't give him one. So Poker went outside to pee and then came back in. Score a treat for Poker! See how smart I am! --Poker

Euchre likes hanging out on the couch with Grandma. She massages his head, but then eventually he moves so she's rubbing his belly and then later his butt. See, I'm smart too! --Euchre When Euchre's not there, Grandma misses him when she watches tv and calls for him to come sit with her. He happily gets on the couch (with help from Mom) and soon is snoring in Grandma's lap. You're spoiled. --Poker Yep. --Euchre

And in other news, here's Mom's third Mini in May. Another temp Mini while the convertible top is being restrung. A Pepper White 06 with lots of packages installed. A step up, but it's still no convertible!

Our new friends Elmo and Zoe!

Today we went to Fells Point. We sat on a big marble block and it was nice and cool. Then Mom's friend Doug came with two little guys! Elmo (brown) and Zoe (black) the miniature pinschers. They had a lot of energy and liked to bark a lot. Elmo and Zoe are going to stay with us for a few days in July when Mom & Doug go away. It'll be a lot of fun!

We all got water and treats while Mom and Doug had lunch, then all six of us went for a walk. We found a back entrance to Robert McClintock's studio while Mom and Doug were talking. We went inside and checked it out. The artist came out and took pictures of us. Maybe we'll be famous! Then we went inside the store and Dougie found some pictures of dogs that looked like Elmo and Zoe. Cute!

We walked all around and were tired when we got back to the car. Mom opened the sunroof and our little windows and we laid down all the way home. Then we slept until dinner.

Mini Cooper meetup

Mom took us to the DC Metro Mini meetup at Mini of Towson today for breakfast. It was our first time riding in Nemo with the top down. Mom strapped us into the backseat and buckled our collars to the seatbelt so we'd be safe. Euchre was scared and laid down the whole time. Poker tried to be brave sitting up but he was having a hard time seeing in the wind. He just closed his eyes.

When we got there, there were all these little cars that looked like Nemo but in different colors.

Mom brought bananas and water. She set us up in a shady spot outside, but the sales people wanted us to come in. Inside we made a lot of friends.

We wandered around the showroom and sniffed all the cars. And then we were tired.

They really liked us. I wonder why? We'll be back and maybe Mom will take us to more DC Metro Mini events this summer.

Mom's coffee table

Aunt Laura,

So you don't feel too bad, here's what Mom's table looked like when Poker chewed it last summer... And the summer before that. But last summer he ate THREE of the corners...the week after Mom got it back from the refinisher.

Here's what it should look like.

And he ate the bottom of the table too.

--Euchre

You can't prove I did that. Burp! --Poker

Somebody was bad

We were sooo good. Until the last day when someone couldn't resist taking a bite out of Aunt Laura's table. We both got punished and had to stay in the cage without treats. When Mom saw it she knew which one of us did it. I'm sorry Aunt Laura. --Poker

Back from our visit to Aunt Laura's

This weekend, Mom had to work in Philadelphia, so we got to stay with Aunt Laura. Mom loaded everything up in Nemo, and it fits!

There was even room left over for us!

Mom made us wear seatbelts because she thought we would slide. We had almost outgrown our puppy harnesses but they still fit. Even over your big belly? --Euchre. Yes. --Poker.

We were excited to see Aunt Laura. We followed her around all weekend. We laid on her deck and watched her do yardwork in her backyard. Then we followed her to the front of the house and we laid on her porch and watched her do more yardwork. We liked laying in the sun. When we got hot, we moved to a shady spot on the porch for a little while, then went back to laying in the sun. That wore us out, so then we went inside to lay on the cool tile in the kitchen.

Then we chased each other around her couch and coffee table while Aunt Laura and Mom watched tv. We went around and around and around.

We didn't like sleeping in the kitchen by ourselves at night though. Mom let us sleep in the room with her and we were happy.

Where are we going?

We know that's our luggage! Mom put our favorite toys and food in there. There must be a trip coming up! Where are we going?

We don't care. We're ready for a ride!

Sacked out

It was a beautiful weekend. Mom took us for walks and we played outside with the neighborhood kids every day. All that excitement makes us tired...

Kinetic Sculpture Race

We didn't get to go, so Mom took these pictures for us. The American Visionary Arts Museum in Baltimore has a Kinetic Sculpture Race every year. The moving sculptures travel from the museum in Federal Hill, past the Inner Harbor, through Little Italy and Fells Point and land in Canton at the Waterfront Park to get launched in the Harbor! They do a quick turn in the water while crowds of people gather to watch if they float or sink! There are very specific rules that the sculptures (and the spectators must follow)...

AVAM is where we go for the doggie parade on the 4th of July. Here we are in the parade last summer. The big pink doggy is there too!

Can we go for a ride?

No. --Mom

Mom's new toy is here! She says his name is Nemo. We don't get it.

Can you find Nemo?

Dory and Nemo?

I want to ride in the front! --P
No, I want to ride in the front! --E

Maybe if we sit nicely, Mom will let us both ride in the front.

I don't think so. --Mom

--Poker and Euchre

We have new neighbors

Bubba and his parents moved away and some new people moved in next door! Now there's more kids to play with us. They brought a football and two basketballs. My favorite! --Poker. We chased the ball and played keep away. The kids said we were very well behaved because when the ball went into the street, we stayed on the sidewalk. We know we're not supposed to go in the street. We played for a long time running up and down the little hill in front of the house and up and down the sidewalk.

After an hour, the kids still wanted to play, but we got tired and laid on the cool grass until Mom called us inside to drink some water.

Who's Nemo?

Nemo is here, but we're not sure what he is. Do you know?

--Poker and Euchre

A package from Uncle Cedric!

We got a box of goodies from Uncle Cedric yesterday. We'll get Mom to take pictures of us in our new summer accessories.
